Structured Consultation

A careful clinical
understanding before
treatment planning

The first session is a structured psychiatric consultation. We clarify your main concerns, timeline, triggers, symptoms, sleep, functioning, past treatment, medical history, substance use, family history, and risk factors where relevant.

The aim is not to label you quickly. The aim is to understand what is happening, explain it clearly, and build a treatment plan that may include psychoeducation, therapy direction, lifestyle changes, medication when indicated, and follow-up planning.

What the consultation may cover

  • Main concerns, timeline, triggers, symptoms, and current distress
  • Sleep, appetite, energy, attention, relationships, work, study, and functioning
  • Past treatment, medical history, substance use, and family history where relevant
  • Risk factors and safety concerns, when clinically relevant

Assessment first
Plan after

The consultation is designed to be clinically useful, structured, and easy to understand.

01
Relationship-Focused Psychiatric Consultations
This is not just communication advice. Relationship-focused psychiatric consultations assess attachment patterns, anxiety, mood instability, personality patterns, trauma, conflict cycles, sexual concerns, sleep issues, substance use, and psychiatric comorbidity where relevant.
02
Diagnostic Clarity
Symptoms are understood through duration, distress, dysfunction, recurrence, medical context, and clinical significance.
03
Psychoeducation
The problem is explained in simple language so that you understand what may be happening and what can be worked on.
04
Therapy Direction
Where relevant, therapy goals and suitable directions are discussed instead of giving generic emotional advice.
05
Lifestyle & Sleep
Sleep, routine, substance use, stress load, and daily patterns are reviewed when they are clinically relevant.
06
Medication When Indicated
Medication is discussed only when clinically appropriate, with clear explanation of rationale, options, and follow-up.
07
Follow-Up Planning
The session ends with a practical plan for next steps, monitoring, review, and what to do if symptoms worsen.
08
Online Consultations
Confidential video consultations are available for patients who prefer remote appointments from anywhere in India.
09
Pre-Session Questionnaire
A short form before the appointment helps save time and makes the consultation more focused, efficient, and clinically useful.

Why fill the form
before the session?

The pre-session questionnaire helps collect basic clinical information before the appointment so that the consultation can focus on understanding the problem deeply, clarifying diagnosis where relevant, and planning treatment. It reduces time spent on routine details and makes the session more structured and useful.

Ready to begin
with a structured
consultation?

You can request an appointment using the form below. The pre-session questionnaire can be filled before the session so that the consultation time is used more efficiently.

Answers, before
you ask

Is the consultation confidential?

Yes. Consultations are private and confidential. As with all medical care, confidentiality has rare, clinically defined exceptions, such as a serious and immediate safety concern.

Will I be prescribed medication?

Not necessarily. Medication is discussed only when clinically indicated, with a clear explanation of the rationale, options, expected effects, and follow-up plan. Many treatment plans focus on psychoeducation, therapy direction, and lifestyle changes.

How do online consultations work?

Online consultations are conducted over a confidential video call and are available from anywhere in India. Once your appointment is confirmed, you receive the session details. Filling the pre-session questionnaire beforehand helps keep the session focused.

Do I need a referral or previous reports?

No referral is needed. If you have past prescriptions, reports, or discharge summaries, keeping them at hand during the session is helpful but not essential.

Can a family member join the session?

In many situations a family member's perspective is clinically valuable, and this can be arranged. Mention it while booking so the session can be planned accordingly.

What if I need urgent help?

This service is not a substitute for emergency care. If you or someone with you is in immediate danger or having thoughts of self-harm, please contact your nearest hospital emergency department or call Tele-MANAS at 14416, India's national mental health helpline.
