A clinical process,
not an online test
Many adults arrive at ADHD through a social-media reel or a five-question online test. Those can prompt a useful question, but they cannot diagnose ADHD.
Adult ADHD often overlaps with anxiety, depression, sleep problems and stress, and its symptoms can be produced by other conditions entirely. That is why a proper assessment is done by a clinician, over one or more consultations, rather than by a questionnaire. The goal is not to confirm a label you arrived with, but to understand what is actually happening and why.

- A developmental history: patterns from childhood and school, since adult ADHD begins early even when it is recognised late.
- Current functioning across settings: work or study, relationships, money, routines, and how difficulties show up day to day.
- Screening for conditions that imitate or accompany ADHD: anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, thyroid and other physical contributors, and substance use.
- Collateral information where available, such as input from a partner or family member, which can add useful perspective.
Rating scales and questionnaires are used to support this process, but they do not make the diagnosis. Diagnosis is a clinical judgement, made against established criteria such as DSM-5-TR and ICD, drawing on the full picture rather than a single score.

It is not a single questionnaire, and it is not designed to end in an ADHD diagnosis. A careful assessment sometimes concludes that ADHD is not the explanation, and that anxiety, a mood disorder, sleep deprivation or chronic stress fits better. That is a genuinely useful outcome, because it points treatment in the right direction rather than the assumed one.
There is no promise of a diagnosis, and no shortcut to one. What is offered is an honest, thorough evaluation and a clear explanation of the result, whichever way it goes.

An assessment is carried out through consultation, and depending on the picture it may take one appointment or a small number of them. It can be done online across India by secure video, or in person in New Delhi. Some situations may call for an in-person review, and where that applies it is said clearly. Because these individuals are intelligent and hard-working, they frequently compensate for years, and their difficulties are read as a character flaw rather than a treatable condition. Doing well at school or work does not rule ADHD out; it often just means the cost has been paid in stress, sleep and self-criticism instead. Can adult ADHD be assessed online?
Yes, in most cases. A structured history and clinical assessment can be conducted well over secure video, across India. Some situations may call for an in-person review, and where that applies it is said clearly. Video consultation is not for emergencies.
I did well in school. Can I still have ADHD?
Yes. Many capable people compensate for years, especially if they are bright or hard-working, and their ADHD is recognised only in adulthood when demands rise. Academic success does not rule ADHD out; the assessment looks at the pattern and its cost, not just outcomes.
How long does the assessment take?

Will I be prescribed stimulants?
Medication is discussed only if a diagnosis is made, and the choice is individual. Treatment options are explained, controlled-substance rules are followed, and nothing is promised in advance. Medication is one option among several, not a default.
